ABOUT ME
I work with one goal in mind: to help you find happiness in your relationships, work and life.
My background in Therapeutic Counselling and Education, combined with my personal interest in Creative Arts Practice helps others think creatively to problem-solve, focus, reflect, and make the changes needed to live the life they want.
How I Work
I work from a Pluralistic, mainly Person-Centred approach, also drawing from Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic and Transactional Analysis theories.
I believe that you have the tools and resources available to you to make the changes you want, and together we can uncover and draw from these resources to develop your own personal tool box.
I aim to offer a working relationship to help you access these tools without judgement or telling you what to do, but may offer suggestions or helpful resources.
Background, Training & Approach
I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and have experience working with adults, older teens and older adults. I have worked with people experiencing a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement and grief, self-harm, gender transition, boundaries and assertiveness, PTSD/CPTSD, impacted by major health issues, and relationship, work or family problems.
Therapy changed my life — and this inspired me to become a therapist.
When I was struggling, my therapist supported me through my pain. They shared my darkest moments without judging me, so I felt safe enough to be completely vulnerable. For the first time, I could fully express my thoughts, feelings and inner world without shame. They made me feel seen, valued, and understood — which helped me understand, accept, and value myself too.
I know first-hand how powerful it can be to sit with someone who truly listens. Speaking my problems and worries out loud gave me a new perspective — one that helped me to see life differently, to find new solutions, and healthier ways of being. This gave me hope.
Therapy was transformative for me, and now I aim to offer that same experience to others. My goal is to support you through life’s challenges and help you make the changes you want, so you can live more fully and reach your potential.
Having trained at Level 5 in Therapeutic Counselling Practice (RQF), I can work with you to resolve and overcome the challenges you face to help live the life that you want.
I have over 20 years experience working with people in a helping capacity, including as an arts facilitator- through teaching and delivering Creativity for Wellbeing courses. I believe that creativity and experimentation can bring joy, connect us to our bodies, offer restoration and are important for our self-discovery, self-expression, resilience and personal development. I can offer creative therapy practice to suit you.
